Richard was our guide and he was fabulous. Again, we all had a wonderful time and I'm glad we went . We spent about 4 hours at a beautiful beach. One of the best I've snorkeled with over the years. Great snorkeling locations!!! When we got out of the water, we were exhausted. Horible jet ski and Water taxi etiquette! If you go on a Cruise ship, get a cab to take you to the bananrama. Not a bad deal!We got into the water and got out into the reef and to our surprise, there is no one there telling us where to go. I did not where a hat or put sun block on my head and got sun burned. In total, I paid $240 for everything (not including extras I purchased). One guy was mad at the cruise line because they had specifically told him the ONLY way to get to Tabyana Beach is to book that shore excursion through Carnival. Booking Policy Best time to avoid the crowds is April and May or 6:30am til 10am. Clean, white sand, plenty of chairs, generous drinks. 4.6. We paid for the chocolate/rum tour and Tabyana beach passes for four people (total $156 and some change). Enjoy a day at one of Roatans most popular beach spotsTabyana Beach in West Bay. There is an Insectarium where you can learn about dozens of species of bugs including some of the shiniest butterflies in the world and the strongest beetles. We had a good tour but no beach time as we expected. The beachside massage was amazing too. NOTE: There will be local independent drivers and guide trying to sell you a tour just tell them you have book with us and they will leave you alone. Vacationers will have access to private sun loungers, local gift shops, bars, restroom facilities, and fresh waters. Found the Anderson tour person very quickly across the street. Tourists will have a chance to get up close and personal with amazing sea creatures. I don't think I would have felt too safe just paying for a taxi to take us. Can kids under 12 rent snorkel gear?
